Two Detentions Following London Heathrow Irritant Spray Incident

This incident resulted in the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

An additional two individuals are now in custody related to a theft at Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals sustained injuries by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, according to police.

A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth on suspicion of robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. They both remain in custody, the force said.

The arrests follow a probe into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the incident, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their suitcases upon exiting a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was one of the injured during the incident. Five people went to hospital for medical care and were later released.

Officers arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of theft and assault near the location. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Police were called at about 08:10 GMT following reports of a number of individuals hurt by a noxious substance believed to be pepper spray.

The attack - which authorities stated was isolated and not being treated as terrorism - resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the T3 parking facility for a short time.
