I will overwhelm 'credible fighter' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be streamed live on the streaming platform.

Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the pair came face-to-face to build hype for next month's boxing match.

Ex twice world title holder Anthony Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Boxer's Mindset

"I'm going to injure his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm superior," Joshua, 35, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I intend to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my goal."

Respectful Interaction

Despite such comments, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually recognized for his showmanship - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul rather attacked former Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "not serious" after Ngannou rejected a fight offer.

Targeting Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, criticized UK rival Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Fighter

In spite of stating he plans to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to speak negatively about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he stated.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has primarily fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

However, the relative newcomer is still one of boxing's biggest commercial attractions, regularly earning massive paydays.

Prediction and Belief

The 28 year old predicted a knockout win in rounds four or five and stated he would stop the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly in the works for 2026.

"It will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul stated.

Physical Difference

As the two fighters met for the traditional stare-down, with their size difference on show, it emphasized just how unlikely this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is actually proceeding.
